THE DEAL – Short Comedy

Since “THE DEAL” is a short film comedy. One of the first steps I do before starting a design in Photoshop or Illustrator is to do my research and look at other designs in the same field. For comedy posters, there are many directions you can go.

My favourite style of posters are ones that foreshadow a bit or bits of what happens in the film. I chose a single still that happens almost at the beginning of the film to show what is happening while keeping you wondering what the significance of the car is and why he’s walking the way he is. There’s something special about short films, and “THE DEAL” has a charm that will keep you interested for its 8:14 length timeFor deliverables, I’ve included a square poster to fit the feed of social media, then a 3300×5100 which translates to 11×17 inch for more of a traditional poster size. Since it’s featured on YouTube, I’ve also included a thumbnail design to make it look more professional, which can also be used for a billboard design.
