Every great director has a first film. For @wesandersonfc it’s Bottle Rocket. This one was a blast to watch and designing this fun alt poster. This film is known for being both a comedy and a crime. I wanted to lean into both genres with this design. Lets discuss it a bit 👇
Design Breakdown
Leaning into the crime genre with a shot from a heist they get hired to do, and then having the motel in the background to show the significance that the Hinkley Cold Storage Motel plays throughout the movie. Leaning into the comedy side, I went with brighter colours and a playful font. Art style, I’ve been working on doing an oil paint and figured it fit well enough to be perfect for this poster. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out
